Kids Rooms.

Thursday, September 16, 2010

I am going to be doing some posts on creative kids rooms and nursery's this week, and thought I would kick it off with my daughters room that is pretty darn close to finished. (still looking for a the perfect set of art)
I painted these black stripes to the wall and added some rubber medallions I got for .75 each!!! I didn't want everything to be to matchy with patterns so I used a leftover bed skirt from a friend, she had wood side rails so there was no need for it. I love the look of the stripes with dots and the graphics in the pillows.

The bedding was a duvet from company kids and I sewed the pillows. The bed is vintage and was my Grandmothers. I think it's seen many coats of spraypaint :)

The collage is on either side of her window and it's made up of different images and random items.

One of my favorite things in the room are these vintage poodles I picked up at consignment shop.

I also love this chair...what little girl doesn't need a special spot to sit! I got it for $5.00 and recovered it in leftover fabric from another job.

The dressers are really special to me because they were mine, and my Mothers growing up!
A little blk paint in the details and some scrapbook paper in the back and they were totally custom!

It feels like it's taken along time but, sometimes putting the perfect space together takes a little ingenuity and a lot a creativity! I think I only spent about $150.00 on this space!

Cheers,
A.
