Black and White.

I have been endlessly looking for Large art for my daughters room since last year, only to find that it was not the right size or way out of my budget. On a recent shopping trip to Ikea I came across some great fabric and the idea hit me to turn it into art for her space. First I recycled some old canvas art that I was not liking anymore and layed the fabric out to size.

We staple gunned it on right over the wood frame. Cut off the extra fabric and it was ready to hang...just that easy and only $14.00 for both!
I LOVE how they turned out, and her room is finally finished.

Cheers,
A.
P.S. If you want to see the whole post on her room go to Kids Rooms post.

  1. This is exactly what I tell clients to do if they need to fill in a large wall but don't have the funds for art. I love that you can splurge on a lovely piece of fabric. I like the fabric you found. Very unusual and pretty color palette for your girl's room! Kudos!

  2. I love Ikea fabric - and the price is right as well. Just waiting for them to get in more black and white wide stripe fabric to sew drapes for my daughter's room {and maybe upholster my recent chair find}

    Thanks for following and stopping by my blog. Funny - my hubby and I were chatting about possibly renaming my blog and we had thought about the name "recycled" as well - I think I am sticking with hodge:podge, that is what everyone knows me as.

    Love your shop and your style!
