Flames and Glass //

Wednesday, July 31, 2013

Who doesn't love a romantic fireplace? The idea of one encased in glass makes me swoon. It feels sorta like jewelry for your walls non?

Now that my little ones are not so little, I don't have to worry about heads hitting corners or so many hand prints. More glass will be making a come back!

Currently Obsessed // Frameless Round Mirrors

Monday, July 29, 2013

Welcome back Monday. I am off early this morning for some extended family time...something more in the mountain scenery. The Summer seems to be evaporating right before my eyes. Did I tell you this is my Dahl's last year of elementary school? How did this happen? I want to freeze this Summer and pray for her to stay little just a bit longer. So a week of having them all to myself is a breath of fresh air.

Lets move on past my tears and talk about my latest design obsession. Frameless mirrors....but not just frameless...round. Big giant circles of gleaming orbs.

Le' Sigh this must happen in our new house.

Albion Fit Giveaway // Petal Pant

Monday, July 22, 2013

What better way to start off a Monday than with a workout and a giveaway? I am so excited to introduce you to my new favorite fitness brand........drum roll please....

Albion Fit

I have always been a huge LuLu fan, but when I came across their Insta page, I couldn't believe her store right in my home town, I had to give it a shot. Albion Fit is located in the stunning City Creek Center up in SLC for you local peeps, but they ship all over the US so check out their stocked website.

I have a bit of a soft spot for another woman owned/run business and Albion's mission statement seals the deal //

It was time to put these babies to the test. I crossfit 4-5 times a week and need attire that is supportive and moves with me. Being ultra cute never hurts either....even tough girls wear ruffles.

I started with the Love Racer Tank in orange, it was the perfect length and smooth coverage over the boobies...no chaffing on the lats! The detailed rouching on the side is the perfect amount of femininity.
Comes in several colors, think I'm gonna need a few more.

These Petal Pants could not be more soft and comfy! I adore the delicate ruffle at the waist, every girl in the gym wants them. Being tuff and wearing ruffles is exactly what a girl should be. They would be perfect for light workouts and yoga, but if you plan a intense day you may want a pant with a little more support. You will have to pry them off my body every weekend....these are soooo good!

Guess what? The girls at  Albion Fit are going to giveaway a pair of the new Petal Pants! Whoever wins is one lucky lady....click here to our instagram to enter. You must be in the US and not won an Albion giveaway before,  other than that its easy!

For those of you that are just ready to purchase and can't wait for a giveaway, they have a special discount of $20 off $50 purchase too! Just enter the code recycledconsign20 at checkout. Did I mention AlbionFit has some pretty adorable swimsuits as well?  From what I've heard they rock!

Be sure to follow their FaceBook Page for all the latest! Don't forget to enter the giveaway {Here}
We really want to give these pants away to someone, fingers crossed it's you.

How to Restore Vintage Designer Bags //

Wednesday, July 17, 2013

I am back! Key West was dreamy, what's not to love about palm trees and a hammock right? It was just what I need to distress and collect myself again. Thanks so much for hanging in there and letting me have a little time off.

We all know how much I adore vintage items....I mean, I own a vintage shop right? In Miami I had the privilege of dragging the Mr. around to as many shops I could find. I needed to write the trip off so I had to do a little work. It's so fun to see other business owners and get a taste of their world! Needless to say, good thing I packed the HUGE suitcase because I found several treasures to bring back.

A couple of those babbles were two designer bags from the early 80's. We are all aware of the killer price tags that come along with new ones...so with a little TLC they came back into life. Now I am not going to turn down a new bag EVER....just in case the hubby reads this, but it never gets old to say "Oh,this?  It's vintage." I also like to make up stories about where they have been, wink wink.

Lets get down to business and share how to refurbish a find yourself //

Le' Supplies:

La' Gucci Before:

Mr. LV Before:

1. Wipe all surfaces with a damp cloth and a mild soap.

2. Apply BRASSO to the tarnished hardware with a Q-Tip and follow the buffing instructions on the jar.

3. Apply a shoe polish in the appropriate matching color of the scuffed leather. Leave it on.

4. Add an allover leather cream to the whole bag and buff off with a dry soft cloth to desired sheen.

And now for the after party //

Scroll back up to the before picture I dare you.

Now these retro piece are so be happy even with the little love marks that may still be on them. If only they could share their stories!

Here's to hoping you all adopt a forgotten vintage bag and make stories of your own. Feel free to pin this tutorial and share.

Out of the Office //

Friday, July 5, 2013

Alright folks I'm off to take a little vaca. The kids are spending the week at camp grandma and the hubs and I are off to Key West. We are just giddy about this time away. One of things on my bucket list this year was the adventure of paddle boarding. Can you guess what I plan to do? Well aside from hammocks and palm trees.

I wouldn't want you to miss out on anything so be sure to follow my adventure on instagram here! We have a few crazy things planned! I'll be back in a week. Don't miss me to much.

4th of July Attire // What I'm Sporting

Wednesday, July 3, 2013

Who's ready for fireworks and hot dogs?  Me oh me! Nothing better than watching the night sky erupted into glitter and star dust. Being blessed to live in a free country. Let's celebrate!

Calls for some patriotic attire yeah? What I will be sporting.

Picnic Lunch...Try an Agate Mermaid Blanket

Monday, July 1, 2013

And we are back. Monday is up and running. Hoping your weekend was delightful and full of relaxation in every way! We spent the weekend at our local Groovefest full of live music and food trucks. Even a few inflatable toys for the kids. Pure heaven...aside from the 100 degree heat, thanks for the big shady trees.

Relaxing under a shade tree with live music on my favorite picnic blanket is just the best, right?

Everyone needs the perfect picnic blanket, and I am going to share the best source for just that! My new insta friend Brittany from the agate mermaid has an amazing collection. Plus at $25 a pop you can have several!

Kinda gaga over these two. You will have a really hard time deciding, best of luck. Now go have a picnic.
