2. Fresh Linens... Once Spring makes an appearance, it's time to fold away the Winter blankets and bring out the freshly pressed, white linens!

3. Bright Windows... Natural light is so important for any home. I love when the sunshine comes streaming through each morning, especially after all those grey Winter days.

4. Outdoor Furniture... whether it's a tiny balcony, a large patio, or a little front porch, creating an outdoor space with comfy furniture is key to coffee enjoyed in the early morning or dinner in the evening with family &
friends.

5. Hammock... For lounging in your backyard with the sun shining and a light breeze in the air. Also, one of my first dates with my boyfriend of 6 years, so this item is considered romantic perfection to me!

Oh my goodness this girl is a doll! Michaela runs the most adorable bog full of great ideas and fashion!
You are going to love what you read...enough from me check it out!

Hello to all of Amanda's lovely readers! I'm Michaela from the blog Michaela Noelle Designs. I'm thrilled to be sharing my five spring-must-haves for my home!

                                                                  1. Fresh Flowers

This is always a must, don't you think?

They just freshen up any space!

2. Some "Springy" Art

I made this one myself, just by painting the canvas a light green, applying a white stencil background, stenciling the word "Bloom" down the side and Modge-Podging the little bird silhouette on the bottom left corner.

3. Beautifully Patterned Curtains

Not that you need to change out your curtains for spring specifically, but they are a rather inexpensive piece that is sure to bring the room a whole new look. We just changed ours out in our family room, and we're loving the carmel pattern. For curtains, I always look for a pleasing pattern, fun palette and a fabric that still lets the sunlight stream through.

4. A little bit a Ikat

This has quickly become my favorite pattern. I love how it is simultaneously geometric and organic. It's the perfect pattern to punch up a space!

I even bought an Ikat dress recently from Target (:

5. Sunburst Mirrors

Isabella and Max Rooms

Ten June

Mirrors automatically brighten up a space, especially if placed opposite a window.  Reflecting the light that pours in the room naturally by adding a sunburst mirror is a great way to welcome spring! Both the mirrors pictured above are DIY, so you can totally do this project yourself.  I may be giving it a try soon!

Thanks, Amanda for having me today! I loved sharing my spring necessities! (:
xoxo

See I told you it was great!  The sunburst mirror had me at hello :) Thank you Michaela!

I have another great blogger to share with you! Piper from One Sydney Road is so witty and sweet you can't help but follower her through her clever blog! I am thrilled she is sharing her Spring must haves......

Hello all, it's Piper, guest posting here from One sydney road! I was thrilled to be asked to participate in the "Spring Fling" series. Especially since it happens to be one of my favorite seasons (basically if I could have spring & Summer year round...well, I'd be a happy camper!).  So here are just a few of my thoughts on ways to add a bit of spring to your house!
let the breeze in
{flickr}

Spring is such a breath of fresh air after the long winters we usually have here.  One of the best ways for me to bring in that spring feeling to the house is just as simple as opening up the windows and letting the fresh air in!
shake it up

Get out of the winter rut by just rearranging furniture and/or accessories around.  It's amazing how that can change a room.  Or just add some new pillows with a pop of color or mix & match patterns & color - be bold and have fun - that's the spring feeling right?!
get organized
{one sydney road}

Yep, it's that time - spring cleaning.  But it doesn't have to feel like a chore - have fun with it!  Put like things together in some cool bins and voila, instant chaos removal!
 light & airy

Can I live in this room?  I love how light & airy the bedding and curtains feel - makes you want to curl up and take a nap during spring showers!

flowers

I admit it, I'm a complete sucker for flowers.  If I could have fresh flowers in my house every week...well, let's just say that that would be the dream!  But really it is an easy, fairly inexpensive way to bring beauty and color in to the house - and an easy way to put a smile on my face!
Ummm, I completely  agree......and I have that comforter from Anthro, it is so yummy! Thanks for playing in my fun new series.

We are in for a special treat today ladies! I have Alex from things that sparkle blog with us today to fill us in on all her nitty gritty must haves for spring! Take it away Alex....

Hi lovely readers! I am so excited that Amanda invited me over today, her blog is one of my absolute favorites!! This "Spring Fling" series is right up my alley too. In Chicago our winter gets a little bit long and having spring in the back of my mind is the only thing that saves me from insanity! So here are my top five must haves for my home in the spring.

            1. The biggest selling point for my condo was this roof deck.

So come spring my most important priority is to get this space in perfect shape. I wish I could have all the cushions reupholstered in bright pink but instead... Some adorable outdoor pillows will do the trick (these would replace the blue, dont worry!)
2.  There are definitely pros and cons of having a roof deck instead of a yard, my only real con is that I miss the greenery, so these vertical gardens would be the perfect solution. (via)

3. Now that spring is coming back, so is my absolute favorite flower. Peonies!! To make my house spring ready there will need to be bunches and bunches of these around. (via)

4.  Although I use a lot of restraint when adding color in my house, I love the idea of having this throw on my sofa to pack some spring punch. The pop of color would be such a welcome change from the massive fur throw that lives there during the winter. (via)

5. Last but not least...  is some spring cleaning. I want to get my house into perfect shape for this summer, clean out all the unnecessary crap I save and have it all really, perfectly organized. Wish me luck!! (via)

Hope you all enjoyed my must haves for spring! And thank you so much Amanda for having me!

xoxo
Alex

Muah....isn't she lovely? I can't tell you how much I love her choices! Thanks for sharing your favorite Spring Flings with us, love you Alex!
